You know I got the sauce.
Over the years I've received so many messages asking what my sauce recipe consisted of and when I would be writing a blog about it, WELL today is THE day. I've perfected this recipe so you can make Sunday sauce with your family any day of the week! There is nothing better than having amazing food to eat with the people that mean the most to you, especially if you come from an Italian family (like me!) then you definitely know the importance of Sunday Dinners and Sunday Sauce!
Don't we all love tomatoes?
Below is my famous Sunday Sauce Recipe:
For the Sauce:
2 whole onions chopped
six- eight cloves of garlic chopped
2 cups of cherry tomatoes
2 cans of tomato paste
2 jars of "Rao's Homemade Tomato Basil Sauce"
3 tablespoons of olive oil
handful of fresh cilantro
handful of fresh basil
For the VeganMeats:
1 package of "BeyondMeat" spicy sausage
1 package of "beyond Meat" ground beef
Sauté the olive oil, onion and garlic until golden brown
Add in the cherry tomatoes and with your wooden spoon lightly crush the tomatoes, mix them into the sautéed onion, garlic, olive oil mix on low heat for ten minutes.
Add in the two cans of tomato paste and mix around until the sautéed mix is submerged with the tomato paste. Leave together on low heat for about twenty minutes.
Add in the two jars of "Rao's Homemade Tomato Basil Sauce." At this point you can add your vegan meats and place the flame on medium heat. Cover the put halfway with a lid and let sit for and hour and fifteen minutes, checking occasionally.
Once you have checked if the vegan meat looks cooked through, place sauce on simmer and add in fresh cilantro and fresh basil. Leave on simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Pair with your favorite pasta and enjoy!
